The King of England George  III, Duke of Hannover recruited five infantry battalions from Hannover.

The Von Beden, de La Motte and von Hardeberg battalions are ordered to the garrison on Gibraltar.

Spain declares war on England and lays siege to Gibraltar.

15 August

Treaty of Versailles lifts the siege of Gibraltar. George III authorizes the three battalions from

Hannover to wear a blue cufftitle on the right sleeve with GIBRALTAR embroidered on it.

Hannover and Austria go to war with Prussia.  Prussia wins and annexes Hannover.  One of the battalions that fought at Gibraltar is renamed Fusilier Regiment Nr. 73  General Feldmarschall Prinz Albrecht von PreuBen (Hannoversches). The regiment is assigned to the XX.Armeekorps, 19.Division

Kaiser Wihelm II issues an AKO authorizing Fusilier Regiment Nr. 73  General Feldmarschall Prinz Albrecht von PreuBen (Hannoversches) to wear a GIBRALTAR cufftitle on the right sleeve.

Pulled out of the line and sent to Sauchy Lestree then Escaudoeuvres a few days later.

Pulled out of the line and sent northwest to reinforce the front.

Pulled out of the line around Lens and sent to Douchy-Haspres area.

Put into the line around Monchaux sur Ecaillon.  The 111.Division fought

near Vendegies(24 Oct), Aryies(28 Oct), Farmers(29 Oct), Janlain(2 Nov),

Sebourg(4 Nov), Risin(5 Nov) and St.Amand(6 Nov)

7 Nov

Pulled out of the line.

11 Nov

The 111.Division is out of the line resting when the Armistice went into affect.
